Service Hour Requirements

Our volunteer hours for the 2012-2013 seasons will be as follows:

Developmental (BCC) - 4 hours per family per season

Red, and Silver (BCC) - 8 hours per family per season

White, Gray, Black, Senior, Prep and Elite (VMAC) - 12 hours per family per season

Families with multiple swimmers or swimmers at different locations will only have an overall family requirement which will be determined by you highest level of swimmer.

Service Hour Program Fee Payment

For those families who are unable to commit to the Season service hours, we will be requiring a (tax deductible) contribution of a $20 per hour fee for hours not completed.
($160.00 for BCC /$240.00 for VMAC). This payment will enable the team to use these
funds for meet supplies, practice equipment, and, other team-related activities.

Service hour opportunities (for meets, fundraising, team activities/parties, etc.) will be posted
on the bulletin boards at the Broomfield Community Center (BCC) pool and on the team
website in advance of each activity date. In addition, service hour
opportunities will be posted in the team email newsletters and blasts.

We have online sign-up opportunities. Each member can sign in to their team accounts,
view the opportunities, and sign up directly through the website.

Step 1: Find the empty slots shown as "---------".

Step 2: Click on the checkbox in front of the empty slot that you want to sign up for.

Step 3: Select [Signup] button to signup for the slots that you selected.

Note: If your Account name is printed right after the checkbox, you've signed up for that job. You do NOT have to "Signup" again. You, however, can use the "Remove Signup" button to remove the signup if you no longer want to work on that job.

If someone else's name is printed, that job slot is not available for you to sign up (this is a first-come-first-serve system). You can only sign up for the empty slots shown as "---------".

Service Hour Payment Policy

If you should join the team mid season or leave the team before the end of the season, your service hour requirements will be calculated with this formula:

VMAC swimmers - 2 hours/month

BCC swimmers - 1.2 hours/month

For example, if you were on the team for 16 weeks as a VMAC swimmer and decided to leave, you owe 4 service hours.  If you weren't able to complete this, you will be charged $20 for every hour unfulfilled.

As a new family on the team for 16 weeks before end of the season, you will be required to provide 4 service hours.  If not, you will be charged $20 for every unfulfilled hour.

Please note:  Service hours may not be transferred between families nor can service hours be rolled over to the next season.
